This year, we decided that Australia was our big event for everything. So, we told the kids we were not hosting grand parties like past years. We told them they could invite 2 friends to the movies and dinner/lunch (which ever the case may be.)
Alan took 2 friends to see Alvin and the Chipmunks back in December after school one day. Luckily Jim had the day off, so I didn't have to take 3 7-year-old boys to the movies by myself! They thought it was hilarious and laughed louder than anyone in the theater.
Last Friday, while school was still on break, we took 2 of Teresa's friends to see the Water Horse. It was a good movie. Though, there was one scary part.
Yesterday, we had cake at home after dinner. I used a pan given to me by Oma a few years back. It's in the shape of a 3 tier cake. There weren't any directions given to me, so it didn't turn out quite perfect, but adding the decorations make it look just fine. (before I frosted the cake it looked like a flying saucer!)
