(Aren't you glad!)
Sunday was a day of DRIVING. All Day. Through Nebraska. 'nough said.
We spent the night in Platte City, MO (that's where Rob lived when he was here) and drove to Fort Leavenworth first thing Monday morning.
And, as previously stated, we signed for a house:
with a pool and a playground in the backyard:
And, as previously stated, we received our household goods on Tuesday. (I know, I know...this all seems so QUICK, but remember that this is a post that is used to large numbers of people signing in at once, so they were ready for us.)Teresa and Alan have (sort of) been very helpful (when they feel like it) in the unpacking process. They both have learned an art passed down through the generations:
The flattening of the paper
(if you don't flatten each piece, you might miss something! This was drilled in to my head by Nana and Papa in the 1,000 moves we did in my youth.)
They have also enjoyed the job of squashing the paper:
And, I'm pleased to report, that Jim actually used his Engineering Degree. All those years of paying for his education, Oma and Opa, have REALLY come in handy. We couldn't find the hardware for our bed, so Jim used his education to solve the problem:
One last note: upon arrival in Kansas, we had seen 48 of 50 state licence plates. (yes, dEE, Yellowstone was FAB for that game!) We were only missing WV and DE. We saw DE as we drove to check out our new house. That left only WV. I'm pleased to report that we SAW WV in the church parking lot today!! Teresa said, "Mom, are you going to call Uncle Tim and brag? You said that when you were kids you never finished that game!"

Thanks for sharing all of the photos and stories! Have you found the lampshades? One time, we were a dining room chair short and I freaked! The set had belonged to my grandmother. We finally found it in a wardrobe box-with winter coats that I was not planning to unpack for months-Ahh...moving! Allison
The Frioux alternative to the flattening of the paper is to empty all of the paper out of the box, and let a small boy roll around in it. You'd be amazed what he finds.
Nana is anxious to come and see the Clark Clan in your new set-up. Looks like you are settling in fine.
