0630: Wake up, take shower (in only working shower) and get everyone dressed and fed
0740: drive Jim to school
0755: drive to elementary school
0800: meet with Alan's teacher
0820: meet with Teresa's teacher
0835: pull Alan in to classroom because he was screaming in the hallway (because Teresa was punching him)
0840: drive home. Remember that kids are old enough to help. Inform Teresa she is mopping kitchen floor and Alan he is cleaning the bathroom.
0900: call In-laws to tell them to pick up 6 bags of ice on their way past the shoppette and find out they are only 20-30 minutes away...tell them NOT to drive around until Noon...arrive ASAP
0928: Reinforcements arrive. Jobs are assigned.
0930: friend drops off 2 kids for me to babysit
0958: trucker calls: parking lot I picked out is too small and he is unloading the Saturn in to the middle of the street in front of the main gate. Tells me to come immediately.
0959: tell neighbor across the street to come to my house to watch extra kids and jump in father-in-laws truck to go get car
1004: arrive in middle of street to pick up car. Give driver more money than originally agreed (have already consulted lawyer...will be going after company...not driver's fault) and get in to Saturn. Informed by driver that it has 2 "low" tires...
1016: arrive at main gate with father-in-law trailing behind. Gate guards yelling from all angles that tire is flat. Informed that my sticker is expired and that I need to go in to the "non-decal" lane to have car searched
1018: arrive in "non-decal" lane with gate guards yelling from all angles that tire is flat. Get out of car while car is searched
1030: arrive at gas station. Father-in-law fills tires with air. Fill car with gas and get a car wash.
1045: arrive home. Continue preparing for party
1100: Contractor arrives to continue construction on shower. Informs us that he has to turn off water. I inform him that we are having a party and I HAVE to have water NLT 1300. Inform rest of people in the house to hurry up and use the bathroom.
1200: Jim calls to be picked up. Father-in-law fetches.
1245: water is turned on.
1300: first guests arrive. Jim starts grill and cooks first round of burgers.
1430: contractor leaves.
1830 or so: party breaks up. People collect kids and head out. Fun was had by all.
1900: Teresa, Alan, Oma and Opa head to pool to cool down. Jim and Becky sit down and have a drink...

Ohhhhh....!! Thank goodness Oma and Opa made it in early!! I don't know how you would have handled the "car delivery" while watching your kids and other kids! I can only imagine all the "other duties as assigned."
The parent/teacher conferences and water turned off in the house until party time just add to the drama.
