No party like last year. Just a little toy (beaver...nice tail to hang on to). That's what happens when your birthday is in the middle of a move...

Happy Birthday Katie! We were just looking at your picture that's on the refrig.......you are being held in the palm of Jim's hand. What a fantastic 14 years you've had. Wish you many more Birthdays. We're anxious for you to meet all your "cousin" dogs. See you soon. Oma and Opa
Well, you don't get a big party every year (or at least in our family traditions) so Katie's birtday with a nice present sounded very fitting. She photographs well with her gray muzzle. I see that her hair has grown long again....
Well, all I take from this is, it would be wonderful even to be a DOG in Becky and Jim's family. Imagine having guilt that the family pooch didn't get a special party. That's my niece!!! You go girl!! June and Ward Cleaer had nothing over you and Jim. So, just in case the reincarnation people are right and we come back as something else, while my first choice is being Becky and Jim's kid, I would settle for being their pooch.
